My product is in the stationary line. it is a paper fold that is actually quite functional.
I realize many ideas get "ripped off" and copied all of the time. Would it be worthwhile
for me to get a patent on my functional paper design- or just say, "nah"... and just keep on keepin' on?

You don't need a patent. The question is do you want one. That depends on various factors...among which, is it patentable? is it marketable? Would a resulting patent be asily enforceable and effective re: blocking competition? How large is the market opportunity? The list goes on...
